This section will explain how Directors and Officers are elected.

The RPA has a 9 member Board of Directors elected by our membership. 6 Directors on this board are elected only by regional membership in the six recognized regions making up North America RPA. (regions include associated residence of Canada) - NorthWest, SouthWest, NorthCentral, SouthCentral, NorthEast, and SouthEast.  The remaining three Directors are elected by the entire membership regardless of location. All terms of office run for three years.

National Officer Nomination-Election:

The President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are elected by the current board of directors in July of the election year.  Approximately one year prior, a Nomination Committee will be constituted consisting of Director alumni (specifically, those Directors who served out their complete term and are in good standing as RPA members). The Nomination Committee will identify potential candidates, investigate their motivation and qualifications, and make applicable recommendations to the standing Board of Directors. Any member can submit a nomination to this committee.
