Music City Mingle

July 07, 2017 11:00 PM EDT to July 09, 2017 12:00 PM EDT

Music City Mingle
Lebanon, TN

Greg Wrobel is inviting everyone to the first ever (annual??) “Music City Mingle” in Lebanon, TN (M54) from 7 to 9 July. Lebanon is just a few miles east of Nashville and according to Greg, where 80% of the US population lives if you draw a 500nm circle around the city.  Flight ops will start Friday afternoon and continue into Sunday.  This is an informal event / fly in with no ground school, so no check pilots are formally scheduled.  However, since there will hopefully be several aircraft there, it will be a great opportunity to train and if by chance someone shows up completely ready for a check ride and a check pilot is available and willing, we should be able to at least put up a four-ship. Bob Graves is planning a “Dawn Patrol” for those early risers and for folks like me, a “Sunset Soiree”… Plus, a few larger formations for style points and we intend to put up a “mass” formation towards the end. Later at the hanger party there will be a team presentation for the most stylish formation, so you’ll want to be there.

Oh and besides the flying, meeting new friends and enjoying the evening trash talking over a cold one, for those that have not been to downtown Nashville on a Friday night you can, as the song says, “Take the Last Train to Nashville”… actually there is a train that leaves about 1700 and returns about 2200 from Lebanon. We will have a catered lunch Friday and Saturday, plenty of water to stay hydrated in July, evening beverages and a hangar party Saturday night. Greg hasn’t won the lottery yet, so he’s not throwing this shindig all by himself, so rooms, fuel, and a fee to cover the eats and beverages will be on you. What Greg needs at this point is an initial headcount for planning purposes. He’ll look into hotel rooms, catering and transportation, so email Greg at Feel free to forward to anyone who might be interested in attending.

All are welcome, but we'd especially like to encourage the members of the North Central Region to join the fun... Who knows, maybe this could be the first ever Joint-Regional RPA Fly In.
